The legendary first vintage from the winery. It offers notes of bell pepper and a touch of dried blood. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy but fine tannins, crisp acidity and fine tension, with notes of blackberry, bell pepper and a touch of sea salt. It has very fine delineation towards the finish.

Fifth growths, Grand Cru Classe of Bordeaux. Deep garnet-red. Nose of ripe black fruits, graphite, a dash of toast and subtle cocoa. Fleshy attack with crunchy black fruit and refined, well-integrated tannins. Firmer mid-palate with tannins that are still slightly dry on the finish.

This wine is selected from batches that were not marked out for the first wine. This “other” wine of Chateau Lascombes has undeniable charm and offers obvious drinking pleasure. Less powerful than the First Wine but more suave, this wine can be consumed earlier, in its first ten years.
